Prepare
Blind Ads
Almost all business sellers and brokers use ‘Blind’
ads. A 'blind ad' is an advertisement that camouflages
the identity of the business in some way.
The goal of any business – for – sale
ad is to attract buyer prospects by providing a description
of the type of business that is for sale and a general
location of were the business is located in Australia
without supplying the name of the business or the
actual location. In the ad you need to supply enough
information to allow the prospect buyer to decide
if they would like to operate a business of this nature
in this part of the country, whether they are willing
to invest this type of money or can afford it and
if the profit from the business is sufficient to meet
their needs. You need to supply a contact e-Mail or
phone number, it is preferable to use a blind e-mail,
as we supply, or your home number as it’s fairly
easy to identify a business when supplied with the
phone number.
The more detailed your
ad, however, the more you risk breaching your own
confidentiality. Remember that there may be competitors
and employees reading your ad. They can be pretty
creative in assembling information from different
sources especially photographs which should not be
used if you wish to keep the sale confidential.
